The class was not too hard or too easy. If you are good at comprehension, you will do just fine. I like that this is a work at your own pace type of deal. I finished this course in 2 weeks. Good luck!

I a lot of information to learn, but it was interesting. Pay close attention and take notes of specified artwork in the tutorials. Overall, great class.

the course could be better organized. On one unit states that there is no year 0 and in the next unite states that there is. The same verbiage used on unit 1 about lines and perspectives are not the same verbiage used on units 2 and 3 what makes a little bit confusing.

It was a great course with a lot of information. A lot to study and each milestone was making me a bit nervous. The fact that you can refer yourself to the materials is very helpful and needed. In the 1-10 scale of difficulty, I would mark this course as 7. All reading materials for study are already provided. Thus, it is an excellent package.

I loved the variety of art history and representations to help learn the different changes in art through history. I enjoyed the narrator of the video version, Ian, and his subtle humor. Very interesting course and would recommend it to everyone.

FAQ

  • Q: Does Sophia accept third-party payment for tuition, such as financial aid or military benefits?
A: Sophia courses are not eligible for most third party payment methods, and must be paid for by credit or debit card. Tuition is due at the time of course registration. Sophia offers both full and partial payment plans as part of the registration process.
  • Q: When do the courses start and how long do I have to complete a course?
A: You choose your own start date and have 60 days to complete each course. However, because the courses are self-paced, you can complete them in fewer than 60 days.
  • Q: Where do I get the textbooks for my course?
A: You do not need any textbooks for Sophia courses. All material is taught by video and text-based tutorials that are in the course room, and are included in the cost.
  • Q: How am I graded in the course?
A: Your overall score is derived from how you do on two types of assessments: Challenges, which are formative assessments, and Milestones, which are summative assessments. Sophia’s English Composition I, Foundations of English Composition, and Public Speaking courses also include written assignments, called Touchstones, that also contribute to your overall score.
  • Q: How do I know which courses I should take?
