There are no Sophia Learning tutorials for this course, which is disappointing for those who prefer reading to videos. Only one instructor has been transribed and it includes all the "fluff" she adds, making it difficult to sort through the important vs. non-important information. The instructor they transcribed for this course is very slow, chatty, and not consice. The reason I use Sophia courses is because I love THEIR tutorials, which are clear and to the point. There was a lot of repeated information throughout the tutorials. Many of the them went over what was previously taught, even several tutorials prior, which made it feel unorganized. This course was just so different for Sophia, it felt like it was put together by a different team. I've already purchased Macroeconomics and I'm hoping it will be back to the norm. I'm thankful for this course and the credits, but the Sophia element of it was truly missed. I hope it'll make a return in Macroeconomics... fingers crossed.

Very interesting course. A lot more information than I anticipated but if you read the questions carefully, even without a background, you will be fine. I stuck with Mario's tutorials throughout. He was direct and succinct. Completed in approx. a week--total of about 10 hours time.

Found the course to be well done.

Great information in regards to the subject.

Excellent course. I did not think I would have enjoyed this one as much as I did, however, It was refreshing to learn about the history behind religions. Thank you.
by Angela A. on March 12, 2019
This was not an easy course, but it's school...it's not supposed to be easy! I think some people think that due to it being an 'online' course it will be easier than going to their local community college or uni... that is SO not the case! I'm an 'older' learner (mid 50s) and I attended university back when I first graduated high school. Due to life events, I never completed and most of my credits earned back in the 1980s are non-transferrable, so I'm essentially starting over. I have a busy schedule with work, caring for my ailing parent, and trying to launch one of my adult children...I don't have a schedule where I can fit in going to a class on a particular day. If one takes this class, I recommend a combination of watching the videos from at least 2 of the instructors as well as reading the text. I passed the course with a 92, but it wasn't easy. I feel satisfied and will continue to take more classes to fulfill my GenEd requirements.

Good course. If you have any experience in marketing this will be a nice refresher.
